"Stump removal" — pulling the entire stump and root ball out of the ground — is invasive, expensive, and leaves a massive hole. For nearly every residential situation, stump grinding is the better choice. We use a powerful grinder to chip the stump (and the surface roots) into mulch, working 6 to 12 inches below grade. The remaining roots simply break down naturally in the soil over time.

What to expect on grinding day
